Borough President Stringer testified today at the New York City Council Committee on Environmental Protection’s Oversight Hearing relating to drilling for natural gas in New York State. Hundreds of advocates and concerned residents attended the hearing to let the State know that we must extend the comment period on the draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement and ban drilling in the Catskill/Delaware watershed so that toxic chemicals don’t spill into our precious, unfiltered water supply.
